We are extending that emphasis on creativity to the crucial learning areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics with the opening of our new STEM centre. We prepare students well for the exciting university courses and career opportunities open to them after they finish twelve years of school. We help them develop crucial skills like problem solving, teamwork, communications and technological proficiency. We are currently investing heavily in our Maker Space and science labs to make the creative STEM disciplines even more exciting for our students in the future.

We know that parents want their children to get the best academic results possible, and this, naturally, is one of our top priorities. In addition to the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), we also offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program in the final years - making us one of just a handful of government schools to do so.

To support students in succeeding in the senior years we offer students a three-year VCE, starting with one subject in year 10 and in 2022 introduced a Pre IB program which also incorporates the completion of VCE studies in year 10 to prepare students for the IB.

Our results speak for themselves. In 2021 our VCE and IB results place us in the top 10% percent of secondary schools in the state. 23% of students in the VCE and IB achieved an ATAR of 90 or above. Students who were enrolled in our SEAL program in the VCE achieved a median study score of 36, which is comparable to other statewide select entry schools.

While our school will always aim for high academic results, that is just the start. We believe the true goal of education is the development of the whole person. Our school will therefore inspire the sort of qualities that you want to see in your own children: honesty, integrity and moral strength.

The Middle Years program at Albert Park College offers a guaranteed, quality online curriculum that is differentiated for each individual student's abilities and interests. The curriculum provides students with a consistent structure to learning based on the core stages of engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration and evaluation. Extension and enrichment opportunities are provided for students at all stages of learning across all subjects.

We offer places in our Select Entry Accelerated Program (SEAL) to high achieving students in English, Humanities, Mathematics and Science. SEAL enables students to progress more quickly and at a higher level with a strong focus on higher order thinking skills and complex problem solving. Places are limited, so ensure you apply early. All of our students, though, get a top-class education that allows them to excel.

In 2023 Albert Park College will provide a Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program for Year 7 students who have exceptional academic ability. The program offers students the opportunity to undertake challenging learning experiences that are tailored to meet the needs of students of outstanding academic achievement.

At Albert Park College we have approached the Senior Years as a 3 year program and you are encouraged to commit to an area of study for the 3 year period. This commitment will increase your child's depth of knowledge allow your child to flourish in their chosen curriculum area. Where appropriate students in Year 10 are encouraged to attempt a VCE subject as it offers a valuable insight into the VCE experience for the challenging years ahead. We are excited to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in 2023. We also offer a wide range of VET studies. This vocational pathway will suit many students. We offer this option in partnership with the inner Melbourne VET cluster.
